36th Annual Production Sale
February 24, 2010
A nice, sunny but cool day greeted the more than 400 commercial and registered cattlemen from across the United States. They came for the Annual TC Ranch Production Sale on February 24, 2010. Buyers commented on the strong set of 192 yearling and fall bulls that sold for an average of $4,326, and the 43 heifer calves averaged $1,996. We thank our loyal customers and Angus enthusiasts who were on hand to evaluate, bid and buy. Co-top selling bull was TC Tycoon 976 sired by TC Aberdeen 759 and out of a young, top-producing TC Alliance 333 dam. He sold for $40,000 for 2/3 interest to Stevenson Genetics, MT; Sitz Angus, MT; and Craigmore, Canada. The TC Aberdeen 759 sons were one of the more popular sire groups and averaged $10,091. TC Aberdeen Ace 966 another “Aberdeen” son liked for his length, square hip, substance of bone and correct shape. Hammerhead Cattle Co. and Buckner and Jefferies, KY, bought him for $16,000. Another moderate-framed, easy-fleshing “Aberdeen” son, TC Aberdeen 915, sold to Trout Angus and Hollman Angus, NE, for $14,250. Bruce Betzold and Gene Schwarm, IL, bought TC Aberdeen 9109 for $8,000. He was the lead-off member of the 2010 TC Denver pen and out of a “Freedom” daughter. |

Co-top selling bull was TC Romeo 917 a Connealy Right Answer 746 son. This high-performing, deep-ribbed, long-bodied bull was a favorite of many. Slagle Angus, NE, purchased him for $40,000. The Connealy Right Answer 746 sons were a popular sire group selling for an average of $7,767. Krug Farms and Rafter K Farms, KS, bought TC Right Answer 901 for $11,000. He is out of a two- year-old dam and is liked for his length and performance. One of the most complete Connealy Right Answer sons to sell was TC Right Answer 9228. Kinnett Angus, OK, purchased him for $7,750. A maternal brother to TC Advantage Plus 680, TC Right Answer 9189 sold to McElhinney & Sons, IA, for $7,500. Grass Valley, TN bought TC Right Answer 9165 for $7,000. He was liked for his big rib and fleshing ability.

The TC Total 410 sons were well received with a number of spring and fall born bulls from which to choose. The “Total” sons averaged $4,083. Joe Wehrman, NE, bought an eye-catching “Total” son out of a highly productive Connealy Kincaid daughter. TC Total 974 sold for $5,500. TC Total 978 is a complete made son of “Total” out of a TC Seville 075 daughter purchased by Darren McCarthy, NE, for $5,500. TC Total 989 is a double bred “208” son that combines maternal and carcass qualities. He was purchased by Bert Straka, NE, for $5,750.

A number of TC One Way 618 sons were offered averaging $4,265. TC One Way 938 is one of the most complete, well-balanced and eye-appealing sons of TC One Way 618. Glen Hanson, IA, purchased him for $9,500. McGargill Stock Farm, MO, purchased a moderate-framed, easy-fleshing, and expressively muscled TC One Way 618 son. TC One Way 908 sold for $7,500. |

The M A Broadside 1334-822 sons were well liked again for their easy-fleshing, depth of rib and muscle shape. They averaged $5,416. Slagle Angus, NE, also purchased one of the thickest made and heaviest muscled bulls raised at TC Ranch. TC Broadside 967 sold for $11,000. TC Broadside 913 was appreciated for his added hip and total performance. William Wilson, KS, purchased him for $7,500. Baxter Angus, SD, purchased TC Broadside 9128 for $6,000. This “Broadside” son is long-bodied and expressively muscled. TC Broadside 9158 is a thick-topped, deep-ribbed “Broadside” son who gained over 4 lbs a day. Fairview Farm, WV, purchased him for $5,750. William Boyer, NE, purchased GS Broadside 9157 for $5,500. He is a “Broadside” son out of a “Fame” daughter. |

PVF ALL Payday 729’s first set of calves caught a number of buyer’s attention. John Connor, IA, purchased a “Payday” flush brother out of TC Franklin 619’s dam. TC Payday 945 sold for $5,500. V A R Prime Rate 6254 was used for calving ease and it did not take the buyers long to pick up on this. TC Prime Rate 911 is out of a two-year-old “Retail Product” daughter and is thick made and moderate framed. Derek Sawyer, KS, purchased him for $5,750. Out of a strong set of fall bulls, this TC Gridiron 258 son out of a TC Foreman 016 daughter came to the top. TC Gridiron 8505 sold to James Angus, NE, for $5,250 A TC Total 410 daughter sold to Chris Hoffman, ND, for $3,500. A fancy M A Broadside 1334-822 daughter sold for $3000 to Brian Rice, NE. |
