MARCH MADNESS
Finally we received some moisture. Not enough but it is a start and we will just wait for more to arrive. It is the start of our vacation — bull delivery time. We have mainly taken the far, out-of-state loads. Always enjoy the visits with good Angus folk and seeing their operations. Vance says he always learns something at every stop. With the replacement females picked out the guys did the freeze branding. We also freeze brand the sale bulls for those buyers who want them. This year it took three days to freeze brand. We consider it time well spent as come breeding season and when we work cattle the freeze brands are a time saver. Dru and Vance are talking about what to breed to this season. There is a wide range of bulls and with all the numbers available — there is much to sort. Most of the time they agree but once in a while we have to wait for the calves to be born to see who was right or wrong. With the start of daylight savings time, I leave you this month with . . . “Americans have more timesaving devices and less time than any people in the world.” Anon. |
