JUNE JAUNT

Vance and Dennis Namminga in deep discussion on the BIF Tour
The bull market has been good and strong. We are out of bulls and it sounds like everyone else is. Optimism is strong for cattle and the market is excellent. Semen sales are also strong. The calves are starting to take off and shape up – it looks like a deep set. Some by different sires are looking good.

We finally received rain June 15. It was really welcome and a help for the crops. We are still working on new wells and pivots. The second week of June we were informed that they had changed the date that we are allowed to put in replacement wells and pivots from the end of the year to July 17. Now that is short notice to find well drillers, and those who put up pivots are working around the clock.

We attended the Nebraska State Junior Angus Show. Still enjoy seeing the youth excel and making lasting friendships. Dru judged the Iowa Preview Show and reported good cattle and enjoyed working with good Iowa folk.

We have had many visitors this month with foreign guests from Wales and Australia. Always interesting to get others' views and insights on the cattle business. If you are traveling this summer, come by for a visit – we would enjoy having you stop.

As I leave you this month I will be flying over the ocean, so I leave you with . . .
