JUNE JAUNT

Hannah with the showmanship judge.

Mother with Zack Taylor who will be Nebraska's quarterback this season.

Hannah with new friends at the state Angus show.
We have enjoyed many visitors to the ranch this month. The guys really enjoy the visits and their favorite thing to do is ride the pastures looking at the calves. The calves are really starting to take shape. And visitors have given good compliments – always nice to hear.

Wheat harvest was early due to the drought. We had fields make from 7 bushel to 70 bushel. There was a big variance – the summer fallow had good yields and the continuous wheat on wheat or beans had poor yields.

For my mother's 94th birthday we went to Football 101 at the University of Nebraska. This is a one-day class for women only with the profit going for breast cancer research. All the coaches and players make it a fun day while trying to teach females the different plays and positions.

Hannah was finally old enough to show at the NE State Junior Angus Show. She did a nice job of showing and made some new Angus friends.  Then she also showed at a small progress show held in Franklin. The showmanship judge commented that Hannah had been well schooled for the showmanship questions. She is busy now trying to get her sewing down for the county fair next month.

Plans are to have a fall female sale on November 1. We will be selling some top females including the dams of TC Total and TC Foreman. We will sell about 40 cows with heifer calves, 20 cows and 40 bred heifers.

Since Hannah found time to play with friends at the Angus show and Mother and I played at Football 101, I leave you this month with...
