MAY MEMORIES

 Tavin, Hannah, and GG
Tavin and Hannah with GG
for her 95th birthday.

As they say in Nebraska, if you don't like the weather now just wait an hour. Our drought is coming to an end - we had 6 inches one night. Of course this was good for the ponds that were dry. However, our road was under water, the bull pen fences went out as did pasture fences. Along with this rain came hail. Now the alfalfa has to start all over again and the wheat was hurt. I have proof that after that much rain it is not good for the cattle to get out and walk on your lawn. I really have the bumps when mowing.

Since that heavy rain we have had nice rains of an inch about every other day. Thus far we have been unable to cut the hay as the fields are too wet. We had to replant corn and still do not have feed planted. We were lucky and did not have any major break downs while planting as with all the rains there were only a few days when one could plant.

 Argentine cattlemen
Enjoyed having cattlemen
from Argentine stop for a tour.

The end of the month we all went to Denver and met my sister and her family to celebrate my Mother's 95th birthday with the entire immediate family present. Then Mother and I stayed for two of her great grandchildren's high school graduations. It was a fun time.

We had a good visit with Angus cattlemen from Argentine. Several had been to TC Ranch before and we had visited them in their homeland. Felt honored to have three past Argentine Angus Presidents in the group.

An update on the ice storm repairs. All the work is finished a month earlier than expected.

Since we celebrated Mother's 95th birthday I leave you this month with . . .
