MARCH MADNESS
Vance and Connie needed a night out so went to Omaha to see "Mamma Mia" on stage. We enjoy music and plays. Then it was “vacation time” to deliver the sale bulls. Vance and Dru do most of the trips and try to alternate repeat buyers each year. They both worked delivery trips so they could take in some sales. We purchased the lead-off yearling bull at the Connealy sale with Genex/CRI. We named him Right Answer. Also bought a son of Net Worth that will be going to pasture also. Calving is going really well and the calves are doing well. Lots of vigor. We used to be able to freeze brand in a day but now it takes 3 to 4 days. We offer freeze branding of the bulls as a service to our customers and most of the commercial cattlemen like the white numbers. Then we do our replacement females. We had a good Easter with the grandchildren here. Did lots of egg dyeing and hiding of the eggs. Tavin had colored fingers but he didn’t care. Vance’s Mother had a stroke causing her to fall and break a leg. She is not doing well and is now in a nursing home. With this being such a busy month, I leave you with . . . “A second is a terrible thing to waste.” |
